The upgraded car park facility at Shoal Bay is now complete and open to the public.
These upgrades, completed ahead of the peak season, improve parking availability and access to the bay, helping manage parking demand for locals and visitors. The car park offers several significant improvements to enhance the visitor experience, safety, and environmental sustainability in the area.
There are 100 new sealed, line-marked spaces, including four accessible parking spots. To facilitate efficient, stress-free access, the car park incorporates Smart Parking technology as part of the broader Shoal Bay Smart Parking rollout.
Safety enhancements include a new shared path connecting the path behind Shoal Bay Holiday Park to the intersection of Government Road and Shoal Bay Road, providing safer passage for pedestrians and cyclists.
The car park's design enhances the area's sustainability profile through new landscaping that incorporates rain gardens to improve water quality and runoff management. Additionally, eight new native shade trees have been planted.
