Shoalhaven Arts Board Membership Opportunities

Are you interested in supporting the development of arts and culture in the Shoalhaven?

Council is seeking applications from community members to fill vacancies on the Shoalhaven Arts Board. The Arts Board supports community arts projects through annual grants and provides strategic advice to Council on the development and opportunities for the arts in the region.

In recent years, the Arts Board have been involved in funding exciting initiatives across the community including:

  • Annaliese Szota 'Hearthstone' Project – local singer, songwriter recording songs about the Shoalhaven.
  • Shoalhaven Youth Orchestra (SYO) - Masterclass and Concert Project – masterclasses and concert with current and former SYO members.
  • Bonnie Porter Greene and Nicole Smede – Sensing Place Art Project and exhibition – capturing the diverse landscapes of the Shoalhaven through painting and poetry.

The Arts Board also supports the Artists in Residence in Schools Program, delivered by Southland Creative and the Shoalhaven Family Festival - Arty Farty Party, due to take place this June.

Shoalhaven City Council Mayor, Amanda Findley emphasised the importance of creating development opportunities for our emerging artists, as well as acknowledging the outstanding contributions our community makes to arts and culture within the Shoalhaven.

"The Arts Board work in close partnership with Council on many exciting initiatives including the Shoalhaven Arts Foundation."

"I encourage anyone interested in helping to shape the strategic direction to support our region's arts and culture for the next three years to apply," Mayor Findley said.
