Shooting arrest in Flemington

A man has been charged over the shooting of another man at Wentworth Point last month, NSW Police say.

About 4.30am on Wednesday 26 April 2017, a 30-year-old man answered a knock on the door of his unit in Corniche Drive.

When he opened the door two men, one armed with a pistol and the second armed with a knife entered the home.

A number of shots were fired and the 30-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his left leg.

The two offenders fled from the location and emergency services were contacted.

The injured man was treated at the scene by Ambulance paramedics and conveyed to hospital where he was treated and subsequently released.

Police from Flemington Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

About 3.30pm on Friday 5 May 2017, police arrested a 32-year-man following a motor vehicle collision at Padstow.

The man was conveyed to Bankstown Police Station, where he was later charged with discharge firearm and special aggravated break and enter.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today.

Inquiries into the incident continue.
