Shooting incident in Hope Island, QLD

Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident in which a firearm was discharged towards a residence in Hope Island early this morning, Queensland Police say.

Initial investigations indicate around 2am five shots were discharged towards a home on Ferretti Crescent, causing damage to the front of the residence, garage and interior walls.

Two people, including a man and woman, who were home at the time of the incident were not physically injured.

A motorcycle, which investigators believe was involved in the incident, was seen in the Hope Island area shortly before the incident.

Police are appealing to anyone with information about the motorcycle or saw the motorcycle in the area to contact them.

Anyone with information which could assist with this matter should contact police.

Investigations are continuing.
