Ararat Rural City Council is encouraging Barkly Street retailers and cafes to stay open late until 9pm on Friday 12 December for a festive late-night shopping event in the Ararat CBD.
It's the perfect chance for local businesses to welcome more customers and boost sales during the busy Christmas season - especially with the exciting launch of 'Skate into Summer' at the Ararat Town Hall, a first for the region.
Running from 12 to 14 December, the ice rink is set to draw families and visitors into the CBD, giving local businesses a fantastic opportunity to shine with extra foot traffic. This event is proudly funded by Council and the Victorian Government.
"This is a wonderful chance for our businesses to open their doors later and make the most of all the extra buzz in town," said CEO Dr Tim Harrison.
"We know people are busy during the day, so staying open later means more time to shop, eat, and enjoy everything Ararat has to offer."
Council is encouraging everyone to shop local this Christmas - supporting jobs and enjoying the friendly, personal service only local businesses can provide.
On the night, the winner of the Greater Ararat Business Network's (GABN) '12 Days of Christmas' promotion will also be announced. Running from November 12, shoppers at GABN member stores go into the draw to win $1,500 in vouchers to spend locally. You can find a directory of participating stores at www.gabn.org.au
