A man has been charged after allegedly firing a firearm at two people and an infant in the state’s west yesterday, NSW Police say.
About 11.30am (Sunday 11 March 2018), police will allege two men were involved in a neighbour dispute at a property on Bundemar Street, Warren.
A 38-year-old man allegedly left and returned to the home armed with a shotgun before firing at a 35-year-old man, a 26-year-old woman and an eight-month-old girl.
The baby was not injured; however, the man and woman suffered minor injuries and were taken to Warren Hospital. They have since been released.
Officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District spotted the 38-year-old man in a maroon Ford Falcon sedan allegedly driving 120km/h in a 50km/h zone.
A police pursuit was initiated and ended at Warren Hospital where the man was arrested.
The car and firearm were seized for forensic examination.
The man was taken to Warren Police Station where he was charged with nine offences, including:
- Possess ammunition without holding licence
- Use unregistered firearm (not prohibited firearm)
- Fire firearm at house with disregard for safety
- Discharge firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
- Wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
- Possess loaded firearm in a public place
- Drive motor vehicle while licence suspended
- Special category driver drive with special range PCA
- Police pursuit - not stop - drive dangerously
He was refused bail and appeared before Dubbo Local Court today (Monday 12 March 2018) where he was refused bail to appear before the same court on Wednesday 23 May 2018.
