A vehicle, a live grenade, a firearm and a sledgehammer have been located and seized during investigations into shots fired into a house in Tallawong today.
Around 4.40am (Thursday 27 November 2025), emergency services were called to Loura Street, Tallawong, following reports of shots fired.
Officers from Riverstone Police Area Command attended and were told two unknown people attempted to enter the house using a sledgehammer, before leaving the scene and returning a short time later, firing a number of shots into the dwelling and leaving the scene in a Mazda.
The two occupants of the home were uninjured.
The Mazda continued before coming to a stop on Ashburton Street, Tallawong, and two people were seen running from the vehicle.
A crime scene was established and investigations into the incident commenced.
Police searched the vehicle, where they located a live grenade, a loaded firearm, a second firearm, a magazine, a mobile phone and other items including bleach and clothing.
Following a search of the area, furrther items were located and seized in nearby parklands including gloves, balaclavas and hoodies.
Officers from Rescue and Bomb Disposal Unit and Australian Defence Force personnel attended to safely remove the grenade.
