Police are investigating after shots were fired in Melton South early this morning, Victoria Police say.
It is believed a number of shots were fired at a car and property on Toolern Street about 2.20am.
Police attended and found a dog at the rear of the property had also been shot and died at the scene.
Three adults in the house at the time of the shooting were not injured.
It is believed offenders fled the scene in a vehicle.
