Shots fired, Norman Gardens

Detectives are investigating after shots were fired at a Norman Gardens residence last night.

Initial investigations indicate around 6.15pm police received reports about a traffic incident in Smithwick Street involving the driver of a vehicle and bicycle rider, before the pair became involved in a verbal argument.

The driver then left the scene only to return a short time later where at least two shots were fired towards a house where the rider was inside.

He then fled on foot only to return in a vehicle where another two shots were discharged at the residence before driving away.

Investigations indicate the man returned a third time and discharged another shot at the house.

The rider and only occupant of the house, a 40-year-old man, was not injured

Officers attended and located a vehicle believed to have been involved in the traffic incident.

Two crime scenes have been established as detectives continue to identify the armed man.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incidents or has any dash cam footage is urged to contact police.

Investigations are continuing.
