Shots fired, Woolloongabba

Police attended Carl Street, Woolloongabba around 11am this morning (January 1) following reports of shots fired.

Preliminary information indicates an altercation occurred on the street before a 21-year-old Goodna man sustained a gunshot wound to his upper left arm.

He was taken to the PA Hospital in a stable condition.

No one else was physically injured.

A crime scene has been declared and investigations are underway.

Six men aged in their twenties are assisting police with their inquiries.

Police believe this is not a random incident and there is no ongoing threat to the public at this time.
