Sidhu to Push Trade Goals at G7 Meeting in Paris

Global Affairs Canada

The Honourable Maninder Sidhu, Minister of International Trade, will attend the second G7 Trade Ministers' Meeting of the year in Paris, hosted by France, on May 5 and 6, 2026.

Minister Sidhu will meet with his G7 counterparts to discuss how collaboration on current trade and investment priorities can be strengthened, including by fostering supply chain resilience for critical minerals, tackling non-market policies and practices, sharing best practices in mitigating challenges related to low-value parcels and supporting a more effective multilateral trading system.

While in France, Minister Sidhu will engage with international partners and business stakeholders to advance Canadian trade policy interests in support of Canada's economic prosperity and trade diversification strategy, building on the work done under Canada's G7 presidency last year.
