Singapore Trade Mission

The ACT Government will continue building tourism, aviation, investment, infrastructure and industry relationships in Singapore.

Singapore is one of the ACT's strongest international partners. The nation is identified as a key market in the ACT Government's International Engagement Strategy and T2030: ACT Tourism Strategy 2023 – 2030.

We will be joined on the mission by ACT Exporter of the Year Nominal Systems who will attend the Global Space and Technology Convention with us to further Canberra's strengths as an industry leader in this sector.

The mission will include the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the ACT Government and Singapore Space & Technology Ltd (SSTL).

SSTL is a non-government space organisation that provides advocacy and thought leadership within the aerospace industry and the MOU will focus on collaboration between universities and research institutes and opportunities for the Canberra Innovation Network (CBRIN) to foster co-innovation and co-development between Canberra-based and Singapore-based companies.

Building Canberra's reputation as a global destination will be a focus during meetings with Tourism Australia senior representatives from South and South-East Asia and key travel distribution partners in Singapore as we continue to work towards re-establishing the direct Singapore Airlines flights.

The Government will also further develop screen industry and tourism connections as a result of a major Singapore-based production filming in the ACT this month. Screen Canberra CEO Monica Penders will also join the mission to further other screen related activities.

The mission also includes meetings with Singapore theatres and indoor arenas to help inform the next steps in Canberra theatre and arena infrastructure projects.

The cost of the Chief Minister's Delegation is approximately $21,000. This is met from the ACT Executive 2022-23 budget. The final cost will be reported as part of the regular travel reports.
