Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a serious single vehicle crash on the Central Coast today, NSW Police say.
About 7.30am today, emergency services were called to M1 motorway at Kiar, about 12km north of Wyong, and found a Mazda 3 had hit a tree.
The driver and sole occupant, a 58-year-old woman, was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics, before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
Officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol and Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.
Police are urging anyone with information to contact police via Crime Stoppers.
