Around midday today Sunday 13 December, police were notified of a single vehicle crash on the Midlands Highway, Epping Forrest. Emergencies services attended the scene and were met by an elderly man who was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
It is believed the driver suffered a medical episode causing him to cross the the incorrect side of the road, colliding with several trees before coming to a stop in an embankment on the side of the road.
The elderly male sustained non life threatening injuries and was taken to the Launceston General Hospital for an assessment. Further investigations are continuing.
