Single-vehicle fatality in Berrima

A man has died in a single-vehicle crash in the Southern Highlands this morning, NSW Police say.

Just before 7am (Sunday 5 November 2017), police were alerted by a member of the public who came across an overturned vehicle on side of the Old Hume Highway at Berrima.

Officers from The Hume Local Area Command attended and located the Ford Falcon.

Further inspection of the vehicle located the driver and sole occupant, a 30-year-old man, deceased inside.

A crime scene was established and initial investigations have led police to believe the vehicle left the roadway, hit a tree before rolling.

The road remained closed for four hours while detectives and crime scene officers conducted examinations of the scene.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
