Siren sounds on $4 million ambulance station for Logan

A new $4 million ambulance station will be built at Munruben, backed by the Palaszczuk Government's $40 million Growth Area and Regional Infrastructure Investment Fund (GARIIF).

The ambulance station will be located at 1973-1991 Chambers Flat Road, and will include an office, kitchen facilities, training and social space, amenities, locker rooms, and a six-bay plant room.

Member for Logan Linus Power said the station would service high-growth communities across southern Logan, helping to improve response times and health outcomes.

"This investment will improve ambulance service delivery to cater for the significant population growth in our priority development and major expansion areas," Mr Power said.

"It's about getting ahead of the game and putting in place the infrastructure and services our community needs to continue thriving."

Minister for State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning Cameron Dick said an estimated 12 jobs would be supported during construction.

"Our government's coordinated approach to delivering infrastructure is benefitting all Queenslanders," Mr Dick said

"GARIIF, along with our $295 million Building our Regions initiative, is making our state stronger by stimulating work and boosting local economies."

Minister for Health and Ambulance Services Steven Miles said the Palaszczuk Government was committed to supporting a sustainable health system now and for future generations.

"We want to see better health outcomes for all Queenslanders, and at the core of this is improving services for expanding regions like Logan," Mr Miles said.

The new Munruben Ambulance Station was announced as part of the 2019-20 state budget and will be delivered by Queensland Health.
