Site works have commenced on the replacement of the Lake Pillans Boardwalk, destroyed in the December 2019 bushfire event.
Fabrication of the replacement boardwalk has been undertaken off-site over recent weeks by local contractor, Central Industries. The contractor has now commenced on-site works with pier footings to be installed over coming weeks after which the boardwalk sections will be lifted into place.
The Lake Pillans boardwalk is a much used and loved community facility in a sensitive wetland and environmental setting. Works are being undertaken in accordance with environmental approvals and best practice.
Council looks forward to its re-opening for public use by late July 2021.
