Sixth person charged over fatal assault at Doonside

A sixth person has been charged with murder over the fatal assault of a teenage boy in Sydney's west.

About 5.40pm on Wednesday 4 August 2021, emergency services were called to a home on Perigee Close, Doonside, following reports of an assault.

A 16-year-old boy was found unresponsive with injuries to his head and chest. He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital, where he died on Saturday (7 August 2021).

Four boys – two aged 13, one aged 14 and another aged 15 – as well as a 15-year-old girl, have previously been charged and remain before the courts.

Following further inquiries under Strike Force Brens, officers from Blacktown Police Area Command arrested a 19-year-old woman at an address in Doonside about 3pm yesterday (Sunday 8 August 2021).

She was taken to Blacktown Police Station, where she was charged with murder, take or detain in company with intent to get advantage occasion actual bodily harm, and cause grievous bodily harm to person with intent.

The woman was refused bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court today (Monday 9 August 2021).
