Sleep Talking in Canberra

The Australian Parliament's Health, Aged Care and Sport Committee will be holding a roundtable public hearing in Canberra on Friday, 30 November 2018, as part of its Inquiry into Sleep Health Awareness in Australia.

The Committee Chair, Mr Trent Zimmerman MP, said that 'the Committee will hear from medical groups, sleep clinics, researchers, government agencies and peak bodies on a range of issues related to inadequate sleep and sleep disorders. In particular, the discussion will include a focus on the causes, impact and cost of inadequate sleep and sleep disorders; current support provided by the medical profession; and workplace awareness and assistance regarding inadequate sleep.'

'In addition, the Committee will hear personal accounts from individuals who have a sleep disorder, or are caring for a family member with a sleep disorder, and the associated social, financial, and physical impacts of sleep disorders on daily life', the Chair said.
