Small businesses rush to take up Citys Bounce Back grants

City businesses have been quick to take up the opportunity of grants to help them to overcome the economic downturn brought on by COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.

The City is offering eligible businesses up to $5000 each to develop ways to improve and sustain custom.

The grants are part of an overall Bounce Back package – launched in February – which also offers free parking in City-owned standard bays every night, from 6pm, and fast-tracked alfresco dining permits.

Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said a wide range of businesses had applied for, and received, the grants - and there was still more money available.

"We've had a few small bars, a boutique construction firm, a tour business and many others – it's been great to see the diversity of businesses in the City and to know that we are able to help them during this difficult time," Lord Mayor Zempilas said.

Applicants must address aligned project outcomes and provide supporting documentation.
