Council is installing 20 new bin baskets at public waste and recycling bin locations across the Snowy Monaro in March 2026 as part of the NSW Return and Earn scheme, aiming to keep refundable containers out of landfill and reduce local littering rates.
The bin baskets are attached to Council bins in busy areas, with the design making it safe and easy for community groups and residents to collect deposit scheme containers and claim the 10-cent refund at their nearest Return and Earn location.
