Bayside residents can now recycle soft plastics for free at the Bayside Waste and Recycling Centre, located at 144 Talinga Road, Cheltenham.
Soft plastics should never be placed in your household recycling bin, as they can tangle in recycling machinery and contaminate other materials. Instead, the soft plastics collected at the Waste and Recycling Centre are sent to a specialised facility where they are converted into oil. This oil is then used to create new plastics, road infrastructure and fuel.
By dropping off your soft plastics at the centre, you're helping to keep them out of landfill and turn waste into a valuable, sustainable resource.
