Solar Panel Recycling now available at Lithgow Solid Waste Facility

Lithgow Council

Council is excited to announce that Solar Panel recycling has now been added to the list of waste streams being diverted from the Lithgow Solid Waste Facility. This recycling process is possible through a partnership with NetWaste and our existing contractor. NetWaste is a regional based waste group that allows its 26 member Councils to collaboratively provide waste services across the broad regions.

Solar Panels are primarily made up of glass, plastic & aluminium and this service will allow all parts to be recycled effectively diverting this problem waste from our landfill.

Waste generated from used solar panels is an emerging issue and Council is pleased to offer this service at a time when limited options are available.
