Solicitor Charged Over Misconduct At Lismore

A solicitor has been charged over an alleged inappropriate relationship and unauthorised access of an official computer system.

In September 2025, detectives attached to Richmond Police District commenced an investigation under Strike Force Jillberta into the alleged actions of a solicitor who failed to declare an inappropriate relationship.

Following inquiries, investigators executed a search warrant at a Ballina home about 6.30am today (Thursday 30 October 2025), seizing mobile phones, computers and documentation.

The occupant, a 32-year-old woman, was arrested and taken to Ballina Police Station where she was charged with three counts of holder of public office misconduct him or herself, two counts of access/modify restricted data held in computer, and hinder discovery evidence - serious indictable offence.

Police will allege in court that the woman unlawfully accessed confidential information and had an inappropriate sexual relationship with an inmate.

The woman was granted conditional bail to appear at Ballina Local Court on Thursday 11 December 2025.
