South Australia coronovirus update as at 16 May 2020

There have been no new cases of COVID-19 notified in South Australia. The total number of cases notified in SA remains at 439.

Thereare no active cases of COVID-19 in South Australia and 435 people have been clearedof COVID-19. One person is still in hospital recovering from the effects ofCOVID-19.

Therehave been four reported deaths in SA from COVID-19. SA Pathology has undertakenmore than 77,000 tests for COVID-19 so far.

Everyone must continue to follow measures that will help stop the spread. Practice good hygiene, keep 1.5 metres distance from others and stay at home if you are unwell.

Peopleexperiencing any of the following should be tested for COVID-19:

  • Fever or chills (in the absence of an alternative illness that explains these symptoms)
  • An acute respiratory infection e.g. symptoms of cough, sore throat, runny nose, or shortness of breath
  • Loss of smell or the alteration in the sense of taste
