COVID Cases in SA

There have been 2,816 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 29,045 active cases in South Australia.

Sadly, SA Health can confirm a man in his 70s, two men in their 80s, a man in his 90s and a woman in her 70s who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.

There are 256 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 11 people in ICU, and two people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 177 people are fully vaccinated, 68 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 11 have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    The latest genome sampling has found around 93% of samples taken were BA.2.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 8,913 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 23% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,893 PCR tests were positive, while 923 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
