South Australian Man Scoops $2.3 Million Jackpot

A routine trip to a hardware shop took an unexpected and lucrative turn for a Woodcroft man, resulting in a $2.3 million windfall in the Saturday X Lotto just before the New Year's Eve.

The South Australian resident was among the 13 division one winners in the draw held on December 30, 2023, with each winner securing a handsome amount of $2,307,692.31.

The winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, described his shock upon discovering the win.

“It’s a bit of good news just before 2024 starts,” the winner exclaimed.

“I got on the computer this morning and checked my ticket and couldn’t believe it!

“It’s pretty surreal!

“It was a spur-of-the-moment thing. I was at Bunnings yesterday, and I just thought I’d go into the $30 million draw, so I went and got a ticket.

“I’m trying to stay cool, calm and collected. I don’t think it’s fully sunk in yet.

“I’ll have to spend the next week or so just thinking about how best to use it.

“I’ll probably put into shares and investments and see what happens from there.

“I might even buy a new car!

“What a way to finish the year.”

His winning 50-game QuickPick was purchased at Pimpala Newsagency & Gifts, Shop 1C, Woodcroft Plaza, 217 Pimpala Road, Woodcroft.
