Council's strong performance in reducing development application (DA) assessment times has placed Campbelltown among the best-performing councils in Greater Sydney, helping residents build and improve their homes sooner.
Average DA determination times have fallen from 85 days in 2024–2025 to 58 days in 2025–2026, placing Campbelltown equal second across Greater Sydney.
Average DA lodgement times have also halved, from eight days to four days.
Council's DA assessment performance also outperforms the targets set under the Minister's Expectations Orders, which aim to accelerate assessment times across NSW.
"Faster assessments mean less time waiting for people building or improving their homes and greater certainty for those looking to invest in Campbelltown," Mayor of Campbelltown Darcy Lound said.
"I'm delighted to see Council recognised for these improvements while still maintaining the quality of our assessment process, ensuring proposed developments are appropriately assessed and deliver good outcomes for our community," he said.
As a result of Council's strong performance, Council has been approved for $3 million in funding through the NSW Government's Faster Assessments Incentive Program to deliver Stage 2 of the Kanbuygal Parklands Mountain Bike Park.
"Stage 1 of the Kanbuygal Parklands Mountain Bike Park is already underway and will bring a unique network of trails to the heart of Campbelltown, catering for riders of different ages and skill levels," Cr Lound said.
"This funding will enable Stage 2 works to be brought forward next year, delivering even more trails that will make the park a destination for riders from across Sydney," he said.
