Speeding drink driver stopped at Marshall

Geelong Highway Patrol impounded a man’s car after he was caught drink driving at Marshall this afternoon., Victoria Police say

Police detected the Ford sedan travelling at 105km/h in a 60km/h speed zone along Barwon Heads Road about 1.45pm.

The driver, a 44-year-old Barwon Heads man, was stopped and provided a positive preliminary breath test.

He then returned an evidentiary breath test reading of 0.180 per cent.

The man’s licence was immediately suspended and his car was impounded.

He will have to pay $972 in towing and storage costs to get his car back.

It is expected the man will be charged on summons with drink driving and speeding.
