Speeding Rider Clocked At 213 Km/h

A man was reported and his licence disqualified for twelve months after riding at an extreme speed at Truro this afternoon.

Nuriootpa patrols were conducting speed detection duties on the Sturt Highway about 4.40pm on Saturday 18 April when they detected a Suzuki motorcycle travelling at 213 km/h in a 110 km/h speed zone.

The rider was stopped by police, and it was revealed the rider held a P2 licence and an R-Date licence.

A 19-year-old man from Greenock was reported for extreme speed, excessive speed, breaching the conditions of his provisional licence and breaching the R-Date licence by riding a non-LAMS approved motorcycle.

He was issued with an immediate loss of licence issued for 12 months and his motorcycle was impounded for 28 days.

He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
