Speedster nabbed in Corryong

Corryong police nabbed a speeding driver in Corryong this afternoon, Victoria Police say.

Officers clocked a vehicle travelling through the township at 96km/h in a 60km zone about 2pm.

Police intercepted the vehicle and the international driver from the UK had his licence suspended for a month.

The 46-year-old man received a $515 infringement notice for speeding and an $806 infringement notice for using an unregistered vehicle.

This intercept forms part of Operation Scoreboard, a statewide focus on keeping our community safe on the roads.

The operation will run for four days from Thursday through to Sunday night and aims to reduce the number of lives lost and injuries on the roads.

During this time motorists should expect to have their vehicles scanned, be breath tested, drug tested and speed-checked by police.

The operation involves all available personnel including; local road policing units, general duties, other operational policing units and centralised resources from Road Policing Command.

The operation starts at 12.01am Thursday 27 September and will conclude at 11.59pm Sunday 30 September, 2018
