A sport instructor will face court today after being extradited from Queensland over alleged historic sexual assault charges.
In 2018, detectives attached to Central West Police District commenced an investigation into the alleged historic sexual assaults of two girls in Orange between 1987 and 1992.
Following inquiries, a 72-year-old man was arrested in Queensland on Tuesday (15 April 2025).
He appeared before Beenleigh Local Court yesterday (Wednesday 16 April 2025), where an application for extradition was granted.
The man was then taken to Tweed Heads Police Station, where he was charged with eight counts of sexual intercourse with person between 10 and under 16 years and three counts of sexual assault – assault and commit act indecency.
He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Thursday 17 April 2025.
