A celebration of country living and community spirit, the 2022 Benalla Festival will be held over two weekends in late October and early November to celebrate a chance to reimagine, reconnect and celebrate.

The Festival program is out now and is packed with live music, fireworks, art, theatre, children's entertainment, sport, open gardens, markets, exhibitions and more.

Events will be held across rural townships during the first weekend from 29 to 30 October. The second weekend will feature events in Benalla from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 November.

Benalla Festival Advisory Committee Chair Cr Don Firth said "as spring transforms our Rural City, so too does Benalla Rural City's Festival. The Benalla Festival Advisory Committee has planned a diverse program of events for our community to come along and enjoy.

Cr Firth said, more than 30 events are showcased as part of the 2022 Festival program featuring a new event, the Benalla Airshow, while the Goorambat Music Festival and Hot Air Balloon Night Glow is our opening night event".

"The festival fun continues over the second weekend with the Benalla By The Lake Food and Wine Festival, vibrant visual arts and roving performers at the Village Precinct at the Mural, our traditional A Day in the Gardens Market and some great events in our rural townships including the Moorngag Mower Mania, Tatong Octoberfest, and rural road tours," Cr Firth said.

"On behalf of the Committee, I thank our partners for helping bring the festival to the community. Events like the Festival attract visitors to our region and help our economy grow. It also provides an important opportunity for friends and family to come home.

Our partners investment in the Benalla Festival is a reflection of the Festival's significance and value," he said.

Festival programs are available around Benalla Rural City, including the Visitor Information Centre on Bridge Street, Council's Customer Service Centre and many businesses around the region.
