Stalker arrested for sexual assaults, South Australia

Following an extensive investigation by Northern District Detectives, a 35-year-old man from the northern suburbs has been arrested and charged with seven counts of stalking as well as rape and unlawful sexual intercourse.

The offences took place between 2012 and 2021, and it will be alleged that the man targeted women mainly aged in their 30's with offences occurring at various locations across the Adelaide metropolitan area.

It will be further alleged that the man, on most occasions, approached and met victims through online platforms. These included using various well known dating sites and by sending social media requests to victims.

The man will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later today where Police will make an application to refuse his bail. The man is already facing numerous stalking charges.

Investigations are still continuing and police encourage anyone who has been a victim of stalking or sexual assault to please contact the Police Assistance Line on 131 444.

Police would like to remind the public to be conscious of their safety and cautious of the information they share online particularly when they are contacted by people they do not know.
