Stand down action against police officer revoked – Brisbane Region

A 52-year-old male sergeant from Brisbane Region has had his stand down from September 24, 2015 revoked, Queensland Police say.

The officer was stood down from official duty with the Queensland Police Service pending investigations into allegations he used excessive force.

The stand down action against the officer was revoked yesterday. The criminal proceedings against the officer have been finalised, however disciplinary proceedings are continuing.

In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct. This does not mean that the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.
