We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families and colleagues of the Victoria Police officers who tragically lost their lives in the line of duty in Porepunkah this week.
Our thoughts are also with the officer who was seriously injured, and with the entire Victoria Police community, who serve our state with courage and dedication every day.
This heartbreaking event has touched communities across Victoria. We stand in solidarity with the people of Porepunkah and the Alpine Shire, and we honour the bravery and commitment of the people who put themselves in harm's way to protect others.
As a community, we are reminded of the risks our police officers face and the sacrifices they make to keep us safe. We offer our full support to Victoria Police during this difficult time.
Flags at Council's Civic Centre in Camperdown are flying at half-mast as a mark of respect, and the Camperdown Clock Tower and the Courthouse will be lit in blue from tonight until Monday morning in solidarity with Victoria Police.
If you or someone you know is affected by this event, support is available.
