State Flying Squad Execute Search Warrant, Kallangur

Officers from the State Flying Squad (SFS) have charged a 43-year-old Kallangur woman with drug-related offences while executing a search warrant at a Kent St address on October 11.

During the search officers located methylamphetamine, MDMA, cannabis, an unlawful prescription opioid medication, a large quantity of cash suspected of being the proceeds of criminal activity, a pipe, scales, clip-seal bags, used syringes and unlawfully possessed fireworks while searching the property.

The Kallangur woman was charged with four counts of possessing dangerous drugs, two counts of possessing utensils or pipes, and one count each of possessing property suspected of being used in the commission of a drug offence, possessing property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence, failing to properly dispose of a needle and syringe, and authority required to possess explosives.

She was expected to appear in Pine Rivers Magistrates Court yesterday (October 13).

The SFS is deployed to crime hotspots across Queensland to support local police by increasing frontline numbers.

SFS Detective Inspector Joe Nixon said these results demonstrate the power of the squad to boost police capability when it's needed most.

"The Squad is skilled in engaging and coordinating with local resources to provide investigative surge capacity," Detective Inspector Nixon said.

"Whether it's getting weapons or drugs off the street, or engaging with victims and the wider community, we're dedicated to detecting, preventing and deterring crime throughout Queensland and assisting in making our communities feel safer."
