State Funeral To Honour Mr Leslie Jack Twentyman OAM

VIC Premier

A State Funeral Service to celebrate the extraordinary life of Mr Leslie (Les) Jack Twentyman OAM will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, 16 April at St Patrick's Cathedral in East Melbourne.

Les was a true son of the West who devoted his life to advocating for the disadvantaged and helping the most vulnerable to get a fair and equal chance at life.

He stood up for people who were often forgotten and fought for important community issues including youth homelessness, alcohol and drug addiction, prison reform, youth justice and social welfare.

Les leaves behind an enormous legacy - one of profound generosity, kindness, and humility - that will live on through the generations of young Victorians who he helped to find a positive future.

The funeral will be open to the public and the service will be livestreamed online.

At the request of Les's family and in lieu of flowers, tributes may be made in the form of a contribution to The Les Twentyman Foundation. To donate, please visit - ltfoundation.com.au/donate.

Further details about how to attend or how to view the live stream will be shared in due course, with the most up to date information available at vic.gov.au/LeslieTwentyman.

As stated by Premier Jacinta Allan

"His passion and hard work changed lives, and his legacy will always live on in the young Victorians he fought for and believed in."
