Police can now name the person who died in a fatal crash on State Highway 1, near Te Horo, at 7.50pm last night.
He was 61-year-old Francis Heard of Horowhenua.
Police extend their sympathies to his family.
Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
