State Rural Championships fire up in Bendigo

The competition is the last on the firefighting calendar, with both Senior and Junior events to be held across the weekend at the Tom Flood Sports Centre.

This comes after CFA announced plans to hold the Rural and Urban Championships as a flagship event across the same weekend, beginning in Mooroopna in 2020.

Chief Officer Steve Warrington said the Championships are a chance for CFA people to come together as one.

"All CFA people take pride in representing their brigade, but also our organisation.

"The Championships are a chance to come together as one, compete to the best of our abilities, catch up with friends new and old, and enjoy the spectacle of a fun and safe competition."
