State wide support for small businesses

Sarah Courtney,Minister for Small Business, Hospitality and Events

There is no stronger supporter of small business in this state than the Tasmanian majority Liberal Government.

To demonstrate this, from April 1 2020 we will launch a refreshed and broadened Enterprise Centres Tasmania (ECT) Program to provide a state wide network of highly skilled and experienced business advisors.

These advisors will work directly with new and established small businesses by providing support at all stages of their development, from conceptand start-up, through to ongoing operations, management and growth.

The new ECT Program will operate in seven regions across Tasmania to ensure all of our state's small businesses have access to specialist business advisory services, which can help them on the path to success.

ECT advisers are independent business experts who can provide a range of free advice on running a small business in areas, including finance and accounting, planning and marketing, regulation, administration and human resource management.

The network of advisors will be located cross seven defined regions meaning wherever you are across the state you can access assistance nearby:

  • West Warren Moore (Moore Consulting)
  • Central North West Fleur Bourke (Fusion Business Services)
  • North Ben Jones (Project Lab)
  • East Nick Crawford (Break O'Day Enterprise Centre)
  • Central South James Robinson (In-tellinc)
  • South East Andrew Hyatt (South East Regional Development Association)
  • South West Scott Dufty (Kingborough Community Enterprise Centre )

With 2400 more businesses in Tasmania since we came to Government, this is just another way we are working with industry to help small business through our Business Growth Strategy 2019-2023 to grow our economy and create more jobs.
