Statement by NSC Spokesperson Emily Horne on Senior Administration Official Travel to Mexico

Special Assistant to the President and Coordinator for the Southwest Border, Ambassador Roberta Jacobson traveled to Mexico on March 22 to engage with Mexican government officials to develop an effective and humane plan of action to manage migration. She was joined by Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for the Western Hemisphere Juan Gonzalez and Department of State Northern Triangle Special Envoy Ricardo Zuniga. While in Mexico, they met with officials from the Foreign Ministry, the National Institute of Migration, as well as Mexico's development agency, AMEXCID to discuss the challenges and address the root causes of irregular migration.
