Statement From Baw Baw Shire Council

Following an independent arbitration process, Councillor Danny Goss has been suspended from his role as Mayor of Baw Baw Shire for a period of 21 days, effective from Thursday 15 May 2025.

An arbitration report, in accordance with section 147(4) of the Local Government Act 2020, was tabled at last night's 14 May Council Meeting.

The respondent of this report is Councillor Danny Goss.

The Arbiter determined that in 2024, during the previous Councillor term, there were instances of misconduct and as a result, Cr Goss is being suspended from the office of Councillor for a period of 21 days in relation to these breaches.

This suspension commences the day after the Council Meeting at which the arbitration report is tabled, being Thursday 15 May.

Council Meetings and Briefings will continue to run during this time, with the support of Council's Deputy Mayor Councillor Tricia Jones.
