STATEMENT FROM BEND

Littlelion PR on behalf of The Bend

A spectator in his 30s was taken to Murray Bridge Soldiers Memorial Hospital for treatment of an arm injury following a suspected lightning strike while racing was underway at The Bend Motorsport Park, Tailem Bend, today.

The Bend's medical team responded rapidly, with multiple paramedics attending. He was taken to The Bend's on-site medical centre, where he was assessed by a specialist doctor and the medical team before being transferred to hospital.

He is in a stable condition and was discharged from hospital this afternoon.

We wish him a full and speedy recovery.

The spectator was coincidentally the winner of our Ultimate Race Day Get Away competition. As a gesture of support, The Bend has committed to providing him with a race day package for 2027, and we look forward to welcoming him back.
