Fairfield City Council is investigating unauthorised access to a portion of our internal IT systems by an external third party.
As soon as we became aware of this unauthorised access, we immediately worked to contain it and commenced an investigation into what happened as well as what information may have been impacted.
We take the security of our data seriously and will keep our community updated if any data has been impacted, as our investigation progresses.
Most of Council's services are operating as usual, with some temporary workarounds in place where needed.
We have reported the incident to relevant authorities and are working alongside various experts across the cyber security industry to resolve the issue.
We will provide updates to the community on the progress of our investigation.
