Earlier this week, I sustained a serious proximal hamstring injury that required me to seek treatment at the Royal Hobart Hospital's Emergency Department.
Following medical advice, I will be undergoing urgent surgery and will need to rest, use crutches and recover at home for the next six weeks, before commencing rehab.
While you won't see me out and about over the coming weeks, I remain very committed to our campaign and serving the Tasmanian community during this time.
I will continue to do all I can to engage with our community and to hear their insights, concerns, and ideas over the phone, even though I cannot meet face to face.
I am incredibly grateful to our hardworking doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, radiographers and all the other healthcare professionals at the Royal Hobart Hospital who have cared for me over the last few days.
Their treatment and care have been faultless and are a wonderful testament to the health workers strong dedication and commitment they have in our hospitals.
I thank the community for their understanding during this time.
