Statement From Liberal Party - Election Review

Liberal Party of Australia

The Federal Executive of the Liberal Party of Australia has considered the report of the Review of the 2025 Federal Election.

The Review recognises the Party's enduring strengths. It also sets out where processes failed, where connection with voters was lost, and where we must do better.

The May 2025 election result was a decisive defeat. We accept that verdict. We also accept the responsibility to change.

The Federal Executive has decided not to publish the Review. What's important now is that we strengthen our Party for the future.

To do so, the Federal Executive will move quickly to drive implementation.

Our objective is simple: Rebuild the Party. Restore trust with voters. Win again.

Australians expect a credible alternative government. We will deliver one.

We would like to sincerely thank Pru Goward AO and Nick Minchin AO for their tireless work in conducting this review. We also thank the many people who assisted, including Liberal Party members and supporters who made hundreds of submissions.
