Statement from Premier and Deputy Premier

The Tasmanian Government acknowledges the decision of Lara Alexander and John Tucker to sit on the crossbench as independent members.

Premier Jeremy Rockliff said while this decision is disappointing, our Government will continue to get on with the job of building Tasmania's future.

"I am obviously disappointed, but this is their decision," the Premier said.

"We will continue getting on with the job of building a strong economy and a safe caring community."

Deputy Premier Michael Ferguson said the business of Government will continue.

"Our absolute focus remains on getting things done and delivering the things Tasmanians care about," the Deputy Premier said.

"We will not be distracted from serving the Tasmanian people to ensure a strong economy and a prosperous future for our State."
