Following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II overnight, the Leader of the House has written to the Speaker to advise that the scheduled sitting of the Queensland Parliament next week be postponed.
This is undertaken as a mark of respect while a period of mourning is observed and is in line with the Australian Parliament.
The Leader of the House will publish an updated sitting calendar for the remainder of the year in due course.
