Statement from State Parliamentary Labor Party

Tasmanian Labor

The Labor Party is serious about winning the election due in 2025.

We know that this weak Liberal Government is failing Tasmanians and failing to get the basics right.

Our caucus is determined and focused on the issues that matter to Tasmanians - cost of living, wages, power prices, housing and healthcare.

In the most recent polls, we have closed the gap between us and this weak Liberal Government from 21 points at the election to just nine.

The State Parliamentary Labor Party welcomes the decision by the National Executive to assist the Tasmanian branch to modernise our party organisation to make it stronger, improve our governance and rules and prepare it for the next election.

Through this reform process we will build a united party, that upholds our values, is clear on our mission and includes all members and affiliates in the development of our party's policies and vision for Tasmania.

We look forward to working with our membership, our Federal colleagues, our party's affiliates, the Administrators and the State Secretary throughout this important process.
